The Metropolitan School of Dance has been a cornerstone of classical ballet education in Leixlip since 1945 when it was founded by our esteemed patron, Patricia Joan McCarthy. At our school, we open the doors to the magical world of ballet for children as young as 3 years old, guiding them on a journey from their first tentative steps in a dance studio to pre-professional excellence. Our commitment to providing the highest quality classical ballet training is unwavering, and we foster a friendly and encouraging environment for our students.
Being affiliated with the Royal Academy of Dance sets us apart in Leixlip. Our students have the opportunity to participate in RAD examinations, consistently achieving exceptional results in both graded and vocational levels. Beyond technical proficiency, our training instills vital life skills such as self-confidence, poise, musicality, core strength, flexibility, and coordination. We take great pride in showcasing our students’ talents through annual school performances at the illustrious O’Reilly Theatre, Belvedere College.
